The Thompson Divide is a 221,000 acre backcountry area in the White River National Forest that supports an already vibrant and diverse economy. Existing uses in the Thompson Divide – ranching, hunting, angling, and recreation – support nearly 300 jobs and $30 million a year in economic output for the local economy. This is no small sum for rural Colorado. Unfortunately, the area has been targeted for oil and gas development. Click here to learn more about the Thompson Divide Coalition.
