“I grew up in the Roaring Fork Valley and it is like nowhere else. I understand we need natural gas. But there are already places where oil and gas infrastructure exists. I think once we must drill every conceivable pocket of oil and gas, then there is something wrong. We need to step back and realize our lands are more valuable for raising livestock, for agriculture, for recreating in, and for wildlife and water. We may not be running out of oil after all. But we can’t keep burning fossil fuels. Our climate—drought, heat waves and wildfires—is telling us that.”
